We are very proud to announce our partnership between the company that produces the PPM Mouthguard and our neuromuscular dental practice. For the first time in the history of professional mouth guards, we are now able to find the absolute “sweet spot” to align the muscles and nerves of the head, neck, and jaw so that the body’s posture is optimized.
What does that mean to the pro athlete?
How does having a measurable amount of added strength, agility, balance and flexibility sound to you? By using our computerized biomedical instrumentation, we are now able to accurately place your jaw into the perfect neuromuscular position that allows the body to move with greater synchronization, strength and agility. Imagine adding the secret weapon to your personal arsenal of performance enhancement. When the difference between winning and losing can boil down to the last few seconds, an athlete who has the slight edge over the other player will win. What do you think this mouthguard could mean to you?
What type of athlete can benefit from this technology?
Anyone who requires speed, balance, agility, flexibility, strength concentration and coordination between their brain and their body will benefit from this assuming there is a disparity in their alignment between the neuromuscular structures of their head and neck, and their posture.
How does one know if this is the case?
This is where you need to be checked out by us. We will examine you and the relationship between your jaw and your posture and determine if this will help you gain the edge.
....A note from the Neuromuscular Equipment Manufacturer's Director of Sales....
I agree with what Anil has shared. In my time with Myotronics I have so enjoyed being part of bringing the life changing benefits of NMD to dentists and patients. What PPM has done has brought my passion and excitement to a new level. On top of being able to offer therapuetic treatment through NMD now we can offer something that the public will buzz about....enhancement in performance for the professional or recreational athlete through a simple time tested science based device called the PPM.
The experience with the Seattle Seahawks was awesome! You could tell at first when we were TENSing these athletes and taking bites on the K7 they were willing to do this per the instruction of their trainer. But what got their attention was the strength, balance and range of motion tests that trainer Chuck Sproule performed on them immediatley after their bites were taken. I am not exaggerating when I say that most of the players eyes got big and you could see them wondering, "how do I feel so much stronger and stable with this bite in?" The proof was in the pudding...After they were run through the tests they came back in to thank us for TENSing and taking the bites and were excited to try out the PPM's when fabricated. Another highlight was when we worked up the 11 chosen players, some of the Seahawks who were not being worked up wondered what in the world we were doing to these guys and mused. But when they saw the players who had bites taken perform the tests and then heard the players talk about how much better their strength, balance and ROM was with the bite in vs. without bites they suddenly had great interest. They were asking the Seahwaks trainer if they could be worked up!
Bottom line is that when something works, it works and people take notice and start talking. The word is starting to spead. This will create buzz in all areas of the athletic community. From the professional athletes to the weekend warriors who want that edge in their performance. This will no doubt have people asking their dentist for PPM's in the future and will create demand and educate the public about NMD.
Anil, Chuck and the rest of the PPM team are on to something worthwhile and exiting to be part of.
Sincerely,
David McNicol
